The sequel to Rajinikanth and Nelson’s hit film, Jailer 2, is currently in production. The original Jailer was a massive success for Indian cinema in 2023, largely fueled by the excitement surrounding its special song, “Kaavaalaa.”

That high-energy track, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, quickly became a viral sensation, accumulating hundreds of millions of views online. Following this trend, the upcoming sequel will also include a special musical number.

Nora Fatehi has been cast for this special song in Jailer 2. She is widely recognized for her popular dance numbers in Bollywood and has also appeared in Telugu films such as Baahubali, Temper, Oopiri, and Kick 2.

Fatehi is presently filming the song in Chennai. The production for this sequence is anticipated to conclude within eight days, with Rajinikanth also participating in the shoot.

Nora Fatehi is perhaps the only Indian actress to have performed in nearly 20 special songs throughout her career, including major hits like “Dilbar,” “O Saki O Saki,” and “Kusu Kusu.” The filmmakers likely chose her for this song with the Hindi-speaking audience in mind. Fatehi is also working on the Tamil movie Kanchana 4, part of Raghava Lawrence’s well-known horror series.

Rajinikanth confirmed a few months ago that Jailer 2 is scheduled for release in June 2026. The film features Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, and SJ Suryah in lead roles. Audiences can also expect guest appearances from Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, and Mithun Chakraborty.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the sequel, which Sun Pictures is producing.
