Akhanda 2 Box Office: Monday Drop Raises Concerns

Monday Numbers Drop – What Next Akhanda?

Akhanda 2 recorded respectable figures during its initial three days. However, Monday brought the kind of unexpected downturn that worried industry watchers. Reports indicate the film gathered only about ₹6 crore gross globally on Monday.

While key regions like Nizam and parts of the Ceded area are still performing reasonably well, the overall trend is concerning. Exhibitors note that ticket prices remained unchanged in many places despite mixed public feedback, which clearly impacted audience attendance. Empty cinemas on weekdays are now causing significant alarm.

The estimated total gross for the film stands near ₹90 crore so far. This means only about 50 percent of its costs have been recovered, with the break-even point still quite distant. The divided critical and audience reception has begun to show a strong effect.

Even more troubling for the filmmakers is the weak performance in North India. Trade analysts suggest that the intense Boyapati style action sequences did not connect with Hindi-speaking viewers.

Although certain scenes were appreciated, the movie did not achieve strong or unanimous praise from the public. Promotional efforts also appeared to make little difference. Adding to these challenges, the strong run of Dhurandhar has drawn away potential audiences.

At its current pace, industry experts believe Akhanda 2 might struggle to fully recover its investment in the Telugu states. With Avatar 3 set to release this Friday, its potential positive reception could further impact Akhanda 2’s earnings. A success meet already took place in Hyderabad, and we are waiting to see if the team schedules any events in Andhra Pradesh.
