Sankranthi Films Censor Dates Locked: Big Movies Ready!

Published on:

The competition for Telugu films hitting the Box Office during Sankranthi 2026 has officially started, with several major movies now having their censor certification dates confirmed. This crucial process happens before a film can be released in theaters. As the festive season draws near, filmmakers are working quickly to complete post-production and obtain the necessary clearances for their projects.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu,” also known as #MegaMSG, is scheduled to finish its censor formalities. The creators have set January 2nd for the censor screening. This confirms the final cut is complete, and the film, expected to be a Sankranthi hit, is on track for its January 12th release. Anil Ravipudi directed the movie, which stars Nayanthara and Catherine Tresa as the female leads.

Next up is Raviteja’s “Bharta Mahaseyulaku Wignyapthi,” which will arrive in cinemas on January 13th. The first copy of this movie is also prepared. Its censor review is expected to take place on either January 5th or 6th, as Raviteja, along with his co-stars Ashika Ranganath and Dimple Hayathi, are ready to entertain audiences in this Kishore Tirumala film.

Another major Sankranthi release, Superstar Prabhas’ “Raja Saab,” which opens on January 9th, has already completed its censor process and received a U/A certificate. However, other films like Sharwanand’s “Nari Nari Naduma Murari” and Naveen Polishetty’s “Anaganaga Oka Raju” have not yet confirmed their censor screening dates, even though their initial copies are nearly finished.

Sankranthi consistently proves to be a profitable period for Telugu cinema, and releasing major films during this holiday season is a long-standing practice that has consistently worked well. We hope the best movies find success.

The films mentioned include: Sankranthi 2026, Tollywood, Raja Saab, Mana Shankar Varaprasad Garu, Prabhas, Chiranjeevi, Raviteja, Sharwanand, Naveen Polishetty, Vijay Jananayakudu.
