A fantasy film starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, especially one relying heavily on visual effects, naturally sets high expectations for its scale, grandeur, and visual impact. However, the title teaser for “Vishwambhara,” directed by Vassishta Mallidi of Bimbisara fame, presented the exact opposite of what was anticipated. Here’s what the film truly requires if it aims for the rumored June 2026 release.
The “Vishwambhara” teaser disappointed many Mega fans with its rough, inconsistent CGI, along with visuals that felt dated and fantasy concepts that seemed old-fashioned. A similar situation occurred when the “Raja Saab” teaser first appeared. Yet, with the recent release of its trailer, the Prabhas film has impressed everyone. “Vishwambhara” clearly needs a comparable high-quality transformation.
The film’s release has already been delayed, moving from an initial September 2025 date to January 2026, and now to an unspecified future date. This suggests the production team is taking feedback seriously. Nevertheless, the new visual effects must match the quality seen in “The Raja Saab’s” latest trailer. Only then will fans truly grasp the epic fantasy’s ambition and the grand scale Chiranjeevi and Vassisht intend to deliver.
Considering that pan-India Telugu films like Baahubali, Kalki, and Mirai have redefined fantasy worlds with their impressive visual effects, “Vishwambhara” should also strive to achieve those high standards.
For “Vishwambhara” to succeed, especially with its potential Sankranthi 2026 release, a significant VFX upgrade is essential, taking cues from the visual quality achieved by “The Raja Saab.”
