Akhanda 2 Postponed from Dec 5th Release

The highly anticipated film, Akhanda 2, will not arrive on its scheduled release date of December 5th, which included premieres planned for December 4th. The movie has been delayed due to unexpected financial difficulties. Production company 14 Reels Plus confirmed this development through their official X account, expressing regret over the situation.

Starting early on the planned release day, significant confusion arose concerning Nizam bookings. Exhibitors found themselves unsure about screening arrangements, while eager fans continuously refreshed ticketing websites for any new information. By the afternoon, it became evident that the release plans were not moving forward as expected, and the situation only worsened as evening approached.

The much-anticipated paid premieres, originally set for December 4th, were officially called off. This cancellation strongly suggested that the underlying problems were more extensive than initially believed. Adding to the widespread disarray, overseas KDMs (Key Delivery Messages) remained uncleared, causing further confusion and leading to numerous cancellations for international screenings.

While last-minute financial obstacles are a known challenge in Telugu cinema, the postponement of a film of this magnitude, literally on the eve of its release, was entirely unforeseen. Given the immense expectations surrounding the sequel and the return of Balakrishna’s powerful Akhanda character to the screen, this delay has naturally shocked both dedicated fans and the broader film industry.
