Akhanda 2 Ticket Hikes Approved in AP, Telangana Decision Awaited

Published on:

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film, Akhanda 2, has secured approval for increased ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh, just three days before its release. The Andhra Pradesh government also permitted paid premieres and special benefit shows for the movie on December 4.

These benefit shows are scheduled from 8 pm to 10 pm on December 4, with tickets priced at Rs. 600, including GST. Starting December 5, regular ticket prices will see an increase of Rs. 75 for single-screen cinemas and Rs. 100 for multiplexes.

This means single-screen tickets will cost Rs. 222, and multiplex tickets will be around Rs. 277 in the state. These elevated prices will be valid for the initial ten days after the film’s release.

A key question remains whether the Telangana government will grant similar ticket price increases for Akhanda 2.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy previously stated that permission for ticket rate hikes would be given if producers agree to allocate a 20% share of profits to film workers. If Akhanda 2’s producers accept these conditions, they might also receive approval for higher ticket rates and paid premieres in Telangana.

Holding benefit shows in Telangana, mirroring those in AP, would help avoid any time discrepancies. We expect more information regarding Telangana’s ticket rate decisions by tomorrow.
