Ram Pothineni on ‘Andhra King Taluka’: A Unique Film Facing Release Challenges

Published on:

Ram Pothineni held significant expectations for his film, Andhra King Taluka. Despite its release at a less-than-ideal time, the movie has garnered widespread positive feedback. It began with respectable box office numbers, and the creators anticipate an increase in earnings starting from its second week.

Ravi Shankar, a producer from Mythri Movie Makers, confirmed that everyone involved poured immense dedication into making this film. He expressed satisfaction with the positive reactions it has received. Shankar noted that the late November release date proved to be a major disadvantage, but he strongly believes collections will improve from the upcoming weekend. He also highlighted Ram’s extensive effort for the project.

Ram Pothineni shared an interesting observation, stating that they knew the film would only achieve moderate earnings in its initial days. He explained that this picture was crafted for a wider audience over time. Its release occurred at the close of November due to various circumstances. Ram promoted the film more than his usual efforts because the story resonated deeply with him.

While many films explore different feelings, Andhra King Taluka examines an emotion rarely seen in Telugu cinema: the bond between a star and their fans. Ultimately, Ram believes the movie honestly portrays a core human connection. He admitted to a personal apprehension regarding November releases, recalling his film Masala with Venkatesh, which did not succeed.

Ram holds deep respect for the audience. He addressed discussions suggesting the Telugu Film Industry (TFI) let this movie down, asserting his belief that TFI always supports its own. He hopes earnings will grow from the current week. Ram stressed the importance of believing that such sincere narratives will find their place in Telugu cinema, requiring backing from producers.

He mentioned that Telugu cinema needs individuals like Mahesh Babu. Despite external pressures to incorporate commercial or heroic scenes, Ram wanted the story to remain true to its original vision. His goal was for viewers to perceive him as Sagar, the character, rather than Ram, the actor.

Ram also praised Bhagyashri Borse, calling her exceptional. He noted that even though she is often seen for her glamour, she can deliver strong acting and promotes the film remarkably well. Andhra King Taluka stands as a truly unique film, with Ram suggesting that similar movies might not come along again.
