Madras Is My Birthplace : Balakrishna
Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently on an extensive promotional journey for his upcoming movie, Akhanda 2. This film is set for a wide release beyond the Telugu-speaking regions on December 5th.
The movie’s team has already visited Vizag, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chikkaballapur. Today, they arrived in Chennai as part of their promotional schedule.
Speaking to the Tamil media, Balakrishna declared Madras his “Janmabhoomi” (birthplace), Telangana his “Karmabhoomi” (land of work), and Andhra Pradesh his “Atmabhoomi” (soul’s land). He spoke in Tamil, recalling his early life experiences and cherished moments with legendary Kollywood actors in Madras, now known as Chennai.
The actor expressed pride in completing 50 years in the industry. He affirmed his intention to continue his career as a lead hero.
Balakrishna conveyed strong belief in Akhanda 2, expecting it to extend his string of hits following Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, Bhagavanth Kesari, and Daaku Maharaj. He mentioned his shift away from predictable films, focusing instead on delivering fresh stories to audiences.
Director Boyapati Srinu joined Balakrishna in the promotional activities. Srinu revealed that filming took place amidst millions of devotees during the historic Mahakumbh Mela.
Akhanda 2 carries significant anticipation, especially since its predecessor became a major success during the COVID pandemic. The film’s genre and central idea possess strong appeal for viewers across the country, with a substantial release planned for North India this time.
