Typically, actors in smaller films are very active in promoting their projects. However, a director recently spoke to the media, voicing his disappointment with an actor who chose to skip promotional activities.
Director and actor Avinash Thiruveedhula recently shared pointed remarks about actor Nandu during a press event for his upcoming movie, Vanaveera, set to release on January 1.
The film has garnered interest with its teaser and trailer, yet Avinash openly stated his dissatisfaction regarding the absence of promotional backing from some actors participating in the project.
Avinash spoke directly, noting that Nandu, a central figure in the movie, neither appeared at promotional gatherings nor posted about the film on social media platforms.
He found this surprising, particularly as Nandu has been busy promoting his other projects. Avinash explained that once actors agree to a film and receive payment, they have a duty to support it, especially during its promotional phase.
He clarified that smaller and mid-budget films rely significantly on collaboration and shared effort to connect with viewers. Unlike movies led by major stars, these productions require every actor’s contribution to gain recognition. Avinash also mentioned the team’s local promotional strategies, which are vital for generating interest.
Stressing the importance of professionalism, Avinash stated that artists should honor the dedication of filmmakers and crews who commit their time, finances, and belief to a project. Nandu has not yet commented on these remarks.
The situation highlights key topics within the Telugu film industry, including the importance of film promotions, the roles of actors, and the specific challenges faced by smaller productions in Tollywood.
